Realistic Wood-like Carpenter Ant Nest

Camponotus Carpenter Ant Nests

Small

Start Small (Step 1)

Many Camponotus species are known to be slow starters their first year. Typically only 15-30 workers will hatch if the queen was caught in the spring. A small nest is great for their first move out of a test tube (claustral) nest. This nest will give the colony a sense of protection with out over sizing their needs.

Best when transferred before hibernation. Be sure to attach a drinking water feeding tube.

Medium

Expanding Up (Step 2)

Year 2-3

If any luck your colony had made it through their first winter hibernation and is growing in numbers quickly. They will soon need to expand. This medium nest is another great way to not over do their spatial needs. Plan on this midway through the year. You may even be able to get them to move in completely to be able to reuse your small nest.

3D printed using PETG which won't rot and crack when exposed to water, unlike PLA printed parts.

Easy open window ring system makes it quick and simple to take apart for cleaning. All you need is a coin.

Large

Colony Explosion…….

Year 3++

By now your colony should be growing with seemingly no end in sight.

Not to worry. Our Large nest is here for the challenge. Expanding your nest with one of these nest will give your ants the space they will need. Its twice the size of the medium nest and can mate up seamlessly to two of them. Our nest are designed for expansion so attachments are a breeze

Brood Chambers

Small

If small steps is what you are looking for the small brood nest will work great and consolidated location for your ant to raise their brood. They even work well as satellite nests!

Medium Brood Chamber

A much needed nest design for keeping carpenter ants is a brood nest. Using these will allow your colony to give plenty of room for your ants to expand. They tend to want to pile high and be able to easily sort through the varying development stages of the larvae / pupae.

Large

This large nest brings the best of both worlds , a swooping wood grain channels and brood chambers combined. Having both in the same nest space will give your ants an easier working environment. They will easily be able to tend to their larvae and rest near by.
